The equipment
380,000 BTU of Heat Built for Construction
Combustion stays in the heat exchanger. Clean, dry heat goes down the duct and into the building. The unit sits outside, the crew works inside.

Why indirect fired
The Expensive Part of Winter Isn’t the Heater, It’s Losing the Schedule
Once the building is closed in, temporary heat becomes part of the production plan. The wrong setup means moisture to manage, fuel runs, and a superintendent babysitting heat instead of building.
Direct-fired heaters are fine for open, ventilated rough framing. Once the envelope is tight and interior work starts, you want combustion kept out of the room. An indirect-fired unit burns fuel inside a heat exchanger, vents exhaust outside, and pushes clean heated air through the duct to wherever the work is.
Cheaper heat isn’t cheaper if it slows the finishes. Compare the whole winter: equipment, fuel, power, moisture, labor, and days lost. For an enclosed build, this is the better total-job decision.
Heat handled, risk lowered
What the Owner, the Architect, and the Super All Get
A jobsite heater is a liability until someone owns it. With Hiland Heat™, that’s us.
Combustion Stays Outside
Indirect-fired: the burner and exhaust sit outside the building. Only clean, dry heated air goes down the duct.
Certified Equipment
CSA-certified construction heaters built to ANSI Z83.7 / CGA 2.14, thermostatically controlled, timer compatible.
Maintained Fleet
Winter Plan units get scheduled service visits through the season. Nobody on your crew touches the heater.
Faulty Unit Swapped Free
If a heater fails, we remove it and replace it at no charge. Written on the rate sheet, not a promise on a phone call.
One Point of Contact
Owner, architect, builder, and super all call the same number and get the same answer.

Questions
Straight Answers for the Jobsite
How many heaters does my project need?
One 380K BTU unit typically carries an enclosed custom home through a Teton winter. Larger footprints, tall volumes, or a detached shop usually mean a second unit. Send the square footage and we’ll tell you.
Propane or natural gas?
Both, on the same unit. Every rental includes 25 ft of 1/2-inch propane supply hose with 10 lb and 2.5 lb regulators. Longer hoses are quoted per job.
Where does the heater sit?
Outside the building, on a level pad or the driveway, with the duct run through a window or door opening. Exhaust vents outside; only clean heated air goes in.
How far can the heat be ducted?
Up to 100 ft with 20-inch duct (three extra 25 ft lengths) or 75 ft with 16-inch duct (four extra). Extra lengths are $25 each per month. Heat can also be split in two directions.
What power does it need?
A standard 120V circuit. No temp power upgrade, no generator sizing headache.
What happens if a heater goes down?
Call us. A faulty heater is removed and replaced free of charge. Service calls for operator error are $150 per hour with a four-hour minimum, so run through the manual first, or call and we’ll talk you through it.
How fast can I get one?
Often next day inside Teton Valley and Jackson Hole during the season. Winter Plan reservations lock a unit for you before the first freeze.
Do you serve Idaho and Wyoming?
Yes. Alta, Driggs, Victor, Tetonia, Wilson, Teton Village, and Jackson. Farther out is quoted per job.
